The meetings of the 9th
African Provincial Chapter have been launched on 29th December 2016
at Namugongo-Kampala, treating issues under a very stimulating theme, Builders of the Kingdom of God in an Africa
under Crises. Forty seven people from the four corners of the world –
Religious and Lay Assumptionists – are participating in these meetings planned
to be held from 29th December 2016 to 3rd January 2017.
The welcoming word from
the Provincial Superior, Father Protais KABILA KALONDO, addressed to all the
capitulars inducted all the inputs. In that word, he deplored the kidnapping of
our Confreres Edmond BAMTUPE, Jean-Pierre NDULANI and Anselme WASUKUNDI which
took place on 19th October 2012; he also deplored the assassination
of Father Vincent MACHOZI and the disappearance of our deceased brothers. One
minute of silence was observed in their memory.
Father Provincial took
that opportunity to acknowledge the presence of Most Reverend Father General
Benoit GRIERE and his Vicar General Emmanuel KAHINDO KIHUGHO, who have come all
the way from Rome in order to celebrate with us this important moment of our
Province.
